In September, our Firm announced that, effective January 1, 2018, it will merge with the law firm of Lindquist & Vennum.  I previously had the pleasure of introducing our future colleagues and guest blog post authors Amy Lauck, whose practice focuses on prepaid cards, mobile banking, and payment systems, and Scott Coleman, whose practice focuses on banking-related transactions and regulatory issues.

I now have the pleasure of introducing our future colleague Andrew Toftey, who accepted my invitation to write a guest blog post about the FCC’s reversal of net neutrality rules and the potential impact of the FCC’s action on consumer payments.  Andrew advises financial institutions, financial technology companies, merchant processors, and other payment providers on legal and regulatory matters, including commercial and consumer credit and prepaid transactions.  He provides experienced, practical guidance on vendor agreements, proprietary network and payment structures and implementation of new payment products and services, including commercial, consumer, health savings accounts, and white label card solutions  (i.e., cards issued by a bank to customers of another bank under that bank’s name where the card relationship is retained by the issuing bank).
