Ballard Spahr to hold April 15 webinar on COVID-19 deposit account fraud

By Barbara S. Mishkin on April 9, 2020
Posted in COVID-19, Deposit Accounts

While deposit account fraud can happen at any time, it is particularly likely to occur during times of economic stress.  COVID-19 scams targeting deposit accounts are already running rampant; deposit litigation in response to these scams is certain to increase in the coming months.  On Wednesday, April 15, 2020, from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. ET, Ballard Spahr will hold a webinar, “COVID-19 Fraud and Deposit Accounts.”

The webinar will provide an overview of the COVID-19 scams targeting deposit accounts and offer proactive ways financial institutions can help their customers avoid these scams.  It will also address the anticipated rise in employee deposit fraud, and ways that financial institutions can use their platforms and existing products to assist their customers to guard themselves against deposit fraud.
