The CFPB will be participating in the FTC’s third “Debt Collection Dialogue” to be held in in Atlanta, Georgia on November 18, 2015. Gregory Nodler, CFPB Senior Counsel for Enforcement Policy and Strategy, is scheduled to be a panelist. The program will include a discussion of enforcement actions, consumer complaints, compliance issues, industry best practices, and how regulatory enforcement actions are investigated and pursued. Mr. Nolder also represented the CFPB at the FTC’s first and second such programs that were held, respectively, on June 15, 2015 in Buffalo, New York, and on September 29, 2015 in Dallas, Texas.
The program will be co-hosted by the Georgia Attorney General’s Office. Industry representatives and representatives of the OCC, South Carolina Department of Consumer Affairs and Tennessee Attorney General’s Office will also be participating. The participants will discuss federal and state debt collection enforcement actions, consumer complaints about collection practices, debt collection compliance issues, and industry best practices.
The program is free and open to the public.
